It’s the final week of Fallen, an exhibition of photographer Don McCullin’s works, currently on at Shetland Museum & Archives and Bonhoga Gallery. Fallen is the first showing of McCullin’s work by ARTIST ROOMS, the collection of modern and contemporary art acquired for the nation by Tate and The National Galleries of Scotland through the generosity of Anthony d’Offay, with additional support from funders, including the Art Fund.
McCullin worked for over 20 years documenting conflict throughout the world including; Vietnam, Cyprus, Northern Ireland and Beirut. McCullin’s work was more than just about the photographs he took, it was the humanity he encountered on his travels. The issues raised by these images are being used by local young people to develop new projects inspired by this exhibition by one of the greatest photojournalists of all time.
Fallen is on at Shetland Museum and Archives, and Bonhoga Gallery until the 22nd February 2015.
