Artist Mick Peter has completely transformed Jupiter Artland’s Steading Gallery by creating false walls, doorways and lowering the ceiling. Popcorn Plaza explores Peter’s interest in civic space, the complete transformation of a space and how that can impact on the visual experience. The shape of popcorn was intriguing to him as it’s an unpredictable form, all corns looking the same until they are exposed to oil and heat, and then they become these random puffed shapes.
Part of GENERATION and Edinburgh Art Festival, Popcorn Plaza is on at the Steading Gallery, Jupiter Artland, Edinburgh, until the 28th September 2014.
