Alexia Holt outlines the residency programme at Cove Park, which creates year-round residencies in all the art forms for national and international artists, collaborative groups and organisations. It is located on 50 acres of unspoilt hillside overlooking Loch Long on Scotland’s west coast.
Artist Lauren Gault has just undertaken the Emerging Visual Artist residency at Cove Park, and has created a body of sculptural work, which explores how an object may be inhabited or affected by a process that is put upon it.
Sculptor Alex Frost has also completed a residency at Cove Park, and has been commissioned by the organisation to create ‘The Patrons’, a temporary exhibition exploring his interest in temporary outdoor sculptures. His work is part of GENERATION: 25 Years of Contemporary Art in Scotland, which is a series of nationwide exhibitions exploring the work of Scottish artists over the last 25 years.
