Writer Catherine Simpson talks to Julie Whitley about her piece ‘The Cutting Ring’, a short story she wrote especially for the Edinburgh International Book Festival’s Story Shop, a daily event that showcases the work of up-and-coming writers living and working in Edinburgh.

Catherine has written two novels, ‘Chicken Dust’ and ‘Truestory’, and has been awarded the Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award for Fiction.
